Old Made New
Readers Digest Condensed books once came with beautiful wordless covers in muted colors and quiet patterns. Often destined for the dump, we find them at garage sales and thrift stores. When the books are gutted (and contents recycled, of course), the covers are re-bound and new paper is hand-stitched to create gorgeous sketchbooks or journals.
These books feature four signatures of good quality sketch paper, with unique vintage papers cradling each signature—music pages, children’s book illustrations or vintage wallpaper, for example.
An Elegant Gift
The covers are enhanced with a built-in ribbon bookmark, and a pocket inside the front cover. Metal book corners are added to some; others feature ribbon closure ties. These make an elegant gift for someone who loves the aesthetic beauty of books and papers.
